Great-grandchildren: One girl who lives in North Carolina!

 

Pets:  Two crazy cats, "The Artful Dodger" and "Party," from daughter's farm.  For almost 14 years, my daily companion was a Siberian husky named Nylak.  Nylak was the model for Granite in Child of the Wolves and for Black Star in Black Star, Bright Dawn by Scott O’Dell.

 

Lives:  Beside a lake in Westchester County, NY, with her husband, Nat Gilbert, 50 miles north of New York City

 

Favorite color: purple

 

Favorite animals:  dolphins, wolves, and dogs

 

Favorite books: After books by Scott O’Dell, Jane Eyre and Great Expectations.

 

Favorite books as a child:  Any of the Oz books.  Fairy tales.

 

Favorite pastimes:  Reading, gardening, traveling, snorkeling, scuba diving, parasailing, white-water rafting.
